Bis [2-(diphenylphosphino) ethyl] Ammonium chloride is an organic compound with the chemical formula [(C6H5)2P(CH2CH2NH(CH2CH2P(C6H5)2)CH2CH2NH2)] cl. The following is a description of the properties, uses, preparation and safety information of the compound:
1. Nature:
-Appearance: White crystalline solid
-Melting point: 230-233 degrees Celsius (decomposition)
-Solubility: Soluble in alcohol, chloroform and benzene and other organic solvents, slightly soluble in water

-as an extractant for cesium and potassium metals
-For the synthesis of catalysts and coordination compounds
-as a phosphine ligand in organic synthesis
3. Preparation method:
Bis [2-(diphenylphosphino) ethyl] Ammonium chloride can be prepared by the following steps:
(a) 2-(diphenylphosphino) ethylamine is reacted with hydrogen chloride to produce 2-(diphenylphosphino) ethylamine hydrochloride.
(B) 2-(diphenylphosphino) ethylamine hydrochloride is reacted with iodoalkane to obtain a diquaternary amine.
(c) Reduction of diquaternary amine with NaBH4 to produce [(C6H5)2P(CH2CH2NH(CH2CH2P(C6H5)2)CH2CH2NH2)]Cl.

-Avoid inhaling its dust or solution when in contact.
